Court Rejects Bail Request for Webkid Amid Expanding Case
Shatta Movement blogger WebkidAfrika has reportedly been denied bail for the second time after appearing before court over allegations linked to defamatory social media posts.
According to reports, prosecutors filed a fresh charge sheet containing two additional charges, increasing the total number of counts against him to six.
The case stems from allegations that the blogger published false and offensive claims targeting dancehall musician Stonebwoy and his family on social media.
Following the court’s decision, Webkid was reportedly remanded again while investigations and legal proceedings continue.
The development has sparked reactions across social media, especially among supporters of Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy, with many debating whether the continued denial of bail is justified.
Shatta Wale has also publicly reacted to the situation, criticizing the handling of the case and suggesting that defamation matters are being treated too harshly.
The controversy continues to fuel conversations around freedom of expression, online conduct, and accountability on social media platforms in Ghana’s entertainment industry.
