Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has finally explained her long silence on social media, and her reason has left many fans emotional. In a birthday video shared on Instagram on Saturday, October 10, 2026, the actress appeared seated in a wheelchair as she marked her 25th birthday, revealing that she has struggled with severe pain and limited movement for several months.

The video, which she described as her “Silver Jubilee” message, quickly spread across Nigerian and Ghanaian entertainment pages. In it, Regina opened up about months of medical tests, painful days and the faith that has kept her going, while also sharing some good news about her recovery and her new home.

“Welcome to Another Chapter of My Life”

Regina spoke directly to fans who had been asking where she had been. She acknowledged that many people would be surprised to see her in a wheelchair and described the moment as the start of a new chapter in her life.

“For several months now, I lost my freedom to move around as I please,” she said in the video, according to reports by TVC News and Legit.ng.

She explained that the problem started as something minor but slowly became more serious over time. She also opened her birthday message with a short prayer: “It’s my Silver Jubilee. This new phase of my life, I pray to God for total calm.”

Things Changed After Her Children’s Day Carnival

According to the actress, her health took a turn for the worse after the last public event she hosted, her Children’s Day carnival.

“But things took a major turn after the last public gathering I hosted, my Children’s Day carnival,” she said.

Since then, she said, she has gone through test after test. She even joked that she had started calling herself a “lab rat” because of how many medical checks she had to do.

Good Days and Bad Days

Regina described the pain as “excruciating” and said her ability to walk changes from day to day.

“Sometimes I find myself walking well, and sometimes I just can’t move,” she shared.

She did not name any medical condition or diagnosis in the video, and she did not say what treatment she is receiving. She only said she wanted to speak now because there have been significant positive developments in her recovery.

Turning to Faith

The mother of two admitted the journey has been hard. “I cried. I looked on to God for His divine healing, as He alone has the final say on my life,” she said, a line that many fans quoted while sending her prayers in the comments.

A New Home Closer to Her Children

Despite the difficult health update, the birthday video also carried a message of gratitude. Regina revealed that she moved into a new home that is closer to her children and to the medical facilities she uses. She called the move a turning point.

She said she first rented before later paying a deposit on the house, explaining that she had a strong “need to own” a place. After she made the payment, friends and supporters reportedly stepped in with gifts to furnish the home, including furniture, a solar power system and a television.

“Everything I have in this house, you name them, they were all gifts,” she said. She also spoke about an emotional reunion with her children and thanked God for the blessings the year has brought.

Background: A Quiet Year in the Spotlight

Regina Daniels is one of the best-known faces in Nollywood. She started acting as a child and grew into one of the industry’s most followed stars on social media. Her absence from the internet in recent months had sparked many questions from fans.

The actress is married to Senator Ned Nwoko, and reports have described the couple as estranged since their widely publicised marital crisis in 2025. In September 2026, a short clip of Regina in the background of a live video hosted by one of Nwoko’s sons led to talk of a reunion, but neither Regina nor the senator confirmed it. In her birthday video, she did not speak about her marriage.

Days before her birthday, on October 8, former Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) president Emeka Rollas posted an apology on Instagram to Regina, her mother Rita Daniels, Ned Nwoko and the AGN board over comments he made during the 2025 crisis, saying he had handled the matter poorly.

Her return to work is also on the radar. Regina is part of the cast of the upcoming action film Issakaba: The Return, which brings back Sam Dede as Ebube, alongside Iyabo Ojo and others.

Fans Flood Her Page With Prayers

The video drew a wave of birthday wishes and prayers from fans, many of whom said they were shocked to see the usually glamorous actress in a wheelchair. Others praised her for being open about her struggles and for focusing on gratitude on her special day.

The update has also renewed conversations about how much celebrities share about their private lives, a topic that often comes up across Nollywood and the wider West African entertainment industry. For now, though, the focus for most fans is simple: they want to see Regina back on her feet.

Final Word

Regina Daniels’ 25th birthday was not the loud celebration many fans expected, but her honest message has touched thousands. With the actress saying her recovery is moving in the right direction, fans will be hoping her next update shows her walking again.
