Kwesi Arthur affirms that despite facing obstacles in transitioning to independence, he never intended to quit making music

Rapper Kwesi Arthur has refuted rumors suggesting he was planning to retire from the music industry following his departure from his previous management company, Ground Up Chale.

During an interview on 3Music TV, Kwesi Arthur acknowledged the difficulties he faced transitioning to independence after parting ways with a system he had been a part of for several years. Despite these challenges, he maintained a consistent release of music, including tracks like “Pain Interlude,” “Penny,” and “For Life.”

The artist expressed that leaving the established system meant navigating unfamiliar territory, but he remained steadfast in his pursuit. He emphasized that if there was a moment he considered quitting music, it would have been in 2022, but he persisted.

Kwesi Arthur highlighted his recent milestone of releasing his first project under his own music company, which he established as a tribute to his grandmother. He defended his decision to venture out on his own, asserting that it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone.

Moreover, Kwesi Arthur stated his desire to serve as an inspiration to others, particularly fellow musicians, by offering hope and assistance to those in need. He stressed the significance of this role and expressed gratitude for the opportunity.

Speculation about disagreements between Kwesi Arthur and his former record label circulated on social media, leading to questions about his absence from the music scene. It was rumored that conflicts arose during contract renegotiations, with certain terms proving challenging to modify.

Reflecting on his experience, Kwesi Arthur emphasized the importance of seeking legal advice when dealing with contracts, advising against rushing into agreements without thorough scrutiny.
