Empress Gifty Defends Florence Obinim Against BBL Allegations, Urges Critics to Let Her Live

Empress Gifty

Ghanaian gospel musician Empress Gifty has come to the defence of fellow gospel artiste Florence Obinim following online criticism and speculation about her appearance, with some social media users alleging that she has undergone a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL).

In a video shared on social media on November 1, 2026, Empress Gifty questioned why people, particularly women, were mocking Florence over the unconfirmed cosmetic surgery claims instead of considering the physical and emotional challenges associated with undergoing surgical procedures.

The musician urged the public to respect personal decisions about physical appearance, insisting that people should be allowed to spend their money and live their lives without unnecessary criticism.

Empress Gifty Questions Critics Over Florence Obinim’s BBL Allegations

Reacting to comments circulating online after Florence Obinim attended a programme, Empress Gifty expressed disappointment that some social media users had turned the discussion into an opportunity to ridicule the gospel musician.

She particularly questioned why some women were joining the criticism, despite the challenges and risks that can accompany cosmetic surgery.

“Florence Obinim went for a programme, and when you read the comments, people were talking about BBL. What is even more disappointing is that some of the comments came from women. Do you even have the courage to enter the theatre?” she asked.

Empress Gifty explained that undergoing surgery can be an intimidating experience, adding that people who have gone through such procedures understand the anxiety that comes with entering an operating theatre.

She further compared the fear associated with surgery to the uncertainty women experience during childbirth through surgical procedures.

Empress Gifty Opens Up About Her Own Cosmetic Surgery Experience

Beyond defending Florence Obinim, Empress Gifty also shared details of her personal experience with cosmetic surgery.

She disclosed that she had previously undergone a procedure to reduce the size of her breasts after losing weight. According to her, she became concerned about maintaining firm skin and preventing her breasts from sagging.

The gospel musician explained that she conducted extensive research before making the decision, adding that she proceeded because she could afford the procedure and believed it would improve her appearance.

“When you all knew me, I used to have big breasts, but now, I’ve made it small. I didn’t want my breasts to sag after the surgery, so I did a lot of research to make my skin firm after the weight loss,” she said.

Her disclosure was intended to highlight that cosmetic procedures are personal decisions and that people should not be subjected to ridicule simply because they choose to change aspects of their appearance.

Empress Gifty Reveals Plans for $8,000 Dental Procedure

Empress Gifty also spoke about her plans to undergo another dental procedure, revealing that her previous treatment cost $1,200 while the next one is expected to cost approximately $8,000.

She explained that her decision was not necessarily about meeting public beauty standards but rather improving her ability to chew food comfortably.

“I’ve booked an appointment to fix my teeth again and it cost $1,200 initially, but the one I want to do now costs about $8,000,” she disclosed.

Explaining her motivation, she added: “I want to fix it so that I can chew meat properly and that’s what I want to do with my money.”

She argued that people have different priorities when it comes to spending their money. While some may prefer expensive clothing and jewellery, others may choose to invest in property or personal appearance.

Empress Gifty therefore urged the public to stop judging people based on how they choose to spend their earnings.

“Someone will use their money for dresses, another person will buy gold necklaces, while someone else will use theirs to buy cement. Allow people to do what they want with their money and as for me, I don’t listen to anybody anymore,” she stated.

Advice to People Considering Cosmetic Surgery

Although Empress Gifty defended the freedom to undergo cosmetic procedures, she also emphasised the importance of making informed decisions.

She encouraged anyone considering surgery to conduct proper research, seek qualified medical professionals and undergo counselling to understand the possible risks, recovery process and expectations before proceeding.

Her comments come amid continuing conversations about cosmetic procedures, body image and the treatment of female celebrities on social media.

Meanwhile, claims that Florence Obinim has undergone a Brazilian Butt Lift remain unconfirmed, and neither the online speculation nor Empress Gifty’s comments should be treated as confirmation that she has had the procedure.
