American filmmaker and actor Shelton Jackson, also known in the movie industry as Spike Lee, has arrived in Ghana for ‘Beyond the the Return’ visit

Spike Lee’s visit is the second big-personality visit in a just a couple of days following Vice President Kamala Harris and Second Gentleman Douglas’ visit.

The movie star checked in at the Kotoka International Airport on Sunday, March 27 2023. Some reports also state that the movie star is part of the US Vice President’s creative arts team.

Spike Lee upon arrival was received by the ‘Beyond The Return’ team and the CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) Kwesi Agyeman at the Kotoka International Airport as drummers and dancers welcomed him.

The last time we met, I told him I was about to move to Ghana. That was in 2018. Now he’s here in Ghana, and I got to welcome him at the airport.

This really is amazing, and I continue to be happy that more African Americans are making the trip to connect with Ghana.”Annabelle Renee (The Director of the Beyond The Return secretariat) said.

Beyond the Return, which is preceded by the ‘Year of Return’ have seen many African Americans visiting Ghana to reconnect with their roots.

Celebrities and rank-and-file African Americans have trooped in to Ghana embrace the beautiful African continent and its people.

These two initiatives under the auspices of the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo have been pivotal in the Tourism industry in Ghana and have significantly impacted the Tourism sector and the country to a large extent.
