Afro Nation Nigeria 2023: Black Sherif, Burna Boy, and More Headline

Ghana’s Black Sherif is set to perform at the inaugural edition of Afro Nation concert in Nigeria. Joining him on the lineup are renowned artists such as Burna Boy, J Hus, Flavour, and Seyi Vibez. The event is scheduled to take place on December 19th and 20th, 2023, at the Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos.

The organizers have promised to reveal additional performers in the coming days. It’s worth noting that Black Sherif has previously participated in Afro Nation events, including the 2023 Afro Nation Portugal and performances alongside Burna Boy at the 2023 Afro Nation concert in Miami and the 2022 Afro Nation Concert in Ghana.

Afro Nation, founded by Adesegun Adeosun, also known as SMADE from Smade Entertainment, and his partner Obi Asika, has expanded its reach to various locations worldwide, including Portugal, Puerto Rico, the United States of America, Mexico, and Ghana.

However, there are concerns that the concert may not return to Ghana this year due to the late announcement of the 2023 edition and its absence from the December in GH calendar of events organized by the Beyond the Return Secretariat. Despite assurances from the Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Dr. Awal Mohammed, that the government’s partnership agreement with Afro Nation remains intact, some critics speculate that the concert may not return to Ghana.

Afro Nation is an annual music festival produced by Live Nation, Event Horizon, Smade Entertainment, and Memories of Tomorrow, with the primary goal of bringing together the finest African artists on one stage.
