Davido Reveals Cristiano Ronaldo as a Close Friend
Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, recently shared that he considers Portuguese football sensation Cristiano Ronaldo as a “very good friend.”
He made this revelation during his appearance as a guest on the latest episode of the ABTalks podcast, hosted by Anas Bukhash. Davido, who made history as the first Nigerian artist to perform at the FIFA World Cup final in Qatar last year, criticized those who ridiculed Ronaldo after Portugal’s elimination from the tournament.

During the podcast, Davido expressed his support for Ronaldo and recounted the online abuse the footballer faced following his exit from the World Cup. Davido emphasized his friendship with Ronaldo by stating, “Look at Cristiano Ronaldo when he left the World Cup. He is my friend, by the way. He is my very good friend. When he left the World Cup, I remember being on the internet, and they [trolls] were abusing him so much, even after everything that he has done.”
In 2017, Davido paid homage to Cristiano Ronaldo in his hit song ‘Fall.’ Notably, Ronaldo follows Davido, making him the only African artist that the footballer follows on Instagram
