Frank Naro, Kumawood Actor-Musician, Announces Independent Candidacy for MP in Ashanti Region

Ghanaian entertainer Frank Osei, widely known as Frank Naro, has revealed his aspirations to run for the Member of Parliament seat in the Ejisu constituency of the Ashanti Region.

According to a circulating flyer on social media, Naro plans to enter the race as an independent candidate, challenging the incumbent MP, John Ampontuah Kumah, who belongs to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The announcement has sparked diverse reactions among internet users, with some poking fun at his political ambitions and others extending their best wishes.

Frank Naro joins a growing trend of Ghanaian entertainers stepping into the political arena, following in the footsteps of his fellow actor and musician Lil Win, who expressed interest in vying for the parliamentary seat in the Afigya Kwabre South constituency.

Frank Naro initially gained prominence in the Kumawood film industry at a young age, mentored by Kwaku Manu and sharing the screen with stars such as Agya Koo, Akrobeto, Nana Ama McBrown, and Vivian Jill.

However, he took a hiatus from acting, citing spiritual challenges, and subsequently transitioned to a career in music, where he has released several popular songs.
