King Promise – Can’t Tame Us (Chelsea Anthem)
Ghanaian Afrobeats star King Promise has officially taken his love for Chelsea Football Club to the next level. The singer and the Premier League giants have released “Can’t Tame Us (Chelsea Anthem)”, a football-inspired song built to celebrate the club’s huge fanbase across Africa, along with a colourful music video shot on the streets and pitches of Accra.
The track was released on October 2, 2026, after its music video premiered on September 30. It is one of the biggest club-and-artist partnerships involving a Ghanaian musician, and fans on both sides of the football and music divide are already talking.

A Song Made for Chelsea’s African Fans
“Can’t Tame Us” brings together two worlds that many young Africans love deeply: football and Afrobeats. According to the release, the anthem was created to honour the strong connection between Chelsea and its supporters on the continent.
The song has already been played on a Chelsea matchday, and it is expected to be heard at more of the club’s fixtures as the 2026/27 season goes on.
Fans can stream the track on all major digital platforms. Halmblog has also shared the audio here: Can’t Tame Us (Chelsea Anthem) by King Promise.
What King Promise and Chelsea Said
King Promise, who has never hidden his support for the Blues, explained the thinking behind the record.
“Chelsea has always had a strong connection with fans across Africa, and we wanted one of their own to celebrate that connection,” he said.
Chelsea’s Brand Director, Scott Fenton, revealed that the idea came directly from the singer. “King Promise came to us with the idea for the track and, knowing how much Chelsea means to him, it felt like a really natural collaboration,” he said.
Inside the Music Video
The music video was directed by Derrick Arthur and filmed at two locations in Accra. The first was the Rent Paid Football Exhibition Tournament, and the second was Nungua SDA Park, the place where King Promise grew up playing football.
That choice gives the video a personal touch. Instead of a polished stadium setting, it puts local pitches, young players and community football at the centre of the story.
Giving Back Through Rent Paid
The project also has a charity side. Every Rent Paid activation supports the Nungua Orphanage, with donations going to children aged 16 and under.

How the Partnership Started
News of the collaboration first surfaced in early September, when King Promise spoke to Adom News about recording the official song for Chelsea’s 2026/27 season.
“Obviously, I’m a Chelsea fan. I do have a partnership with Chelsea Football Club and this is one of the few activations that we’re doing together,” he said at the time.
He described the deal as “a very big deal” and said it was an important moment for Ghana, since it gives a Ghanaian artist the chance to make music for one of the world’s best-known football brands.
He also revealed that the partnership would include a music video, a documentary filmed in Ghana and a tournament to wrap up the activation.
A Long Love Affair With the Blues
King Promise’s connection with Chelsea goes back many years. In an October 2025 interview with the club, he said his love for the team began because of Ghanaian midfield legend Michael Essien.
“My love for Chelsea started because of Michael Essien, because he was a Ghanaian legend,” he told the club. He added that Essien’s success shows young people that “if he can make it, you can make it.”
The singer also called former Chelsea defender Marcel Desailly “my guy” and praised him as a mentor. Speaking about what the club means in Ghana, he said: “It means more than just football. This is a religion back home.”
Around that time, he filmed scenes for his song “Bad Habits” featuring Davido at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea’s home ground.
Why This Matters for Ghanaian Music
Ghanaian artists are increasingly finding global spaces for their sound. Just this week, Halmblog reported on AkayCentric’s “Running” entering GRAMMY consideration, another sign that Ghana’s music scene is reaching wider audiences.
Having a Ghanaian voice behind an official Chelsea anthem adds to that momentum. For many fans, hearing a song from Nungua play at a Premier League ground is a proud moment for the country.
It also follows a busy week in Ghana showbiz, which included stories such as Fancy Gadam’s response to rumours about his girlfriend.
Final Word
“Can’t Tame Us” is more than a club song. It is King Promise telling his own story as a boy from Nungua who grew up loving Chelsea, now creating music for the club he supports. With the video out and the track now streaming, Ghanaian fans of both Afrobeats and the Blues finally have a shared anthem.
