Barosky Reveals He Is Homeless and Unemployed in Manchester

Ghanaian musician Barosky has opened up about his difficult circumstances in the United Kingdom, revealing that he is currently homeless, unemployed and struggling to meet his basic needs.

Speaking to media personality Nana Romeo, Barosky disclosed that he has been living without accommodation in Manchester and sometimes relies on the kindness of others for food.

“I am homeless. I haven’t bathed in a while because I don’t have accommodation.”

The musician explained that his current situation has made it difficult to access basic necessities. He said people occasionally offer him food because he is unemployed and has limited means of supporting himself.

Barosky Appeals for Help to Return to Ghana

Barosky also made an emotional appeal for assistance, saying he needs accommodation and wants to return to Ghana.

According to him, he has lost touch with his family and has only a few friends in the UK who can offer support.

“I need accommodation and I also need to return home to Ghana.”

He further revealed that his passport is currently with the police. However, he is hesitant to retrieve it because he would reportedly be required to provide an address, which he does not currently have.

Barosky’s Struggles Spark Concern Among Ghanaians

News of Barosky’s condition has generated widespread concern, particularly among Ghanaians who remember him from his active years in the music industry.

Barosky became known for his distinctive ragga style and collaborations with established highlife musicians, including Ofori Amponsah and Kofi Nti. He featured on songs such as Rakia and Otoolege and later released his 10-track solo album Okyerewaa Ba in 2006.

Following the public attention surrounding his situation, media personality Delay has reportedly launched a fundraising campaign to support Barosky and help him get back on his feet. The campaign has a target of approximately £5,500.

The development has also reignited discussions about the challenges some Ghanaian musicians face after periods of prominence and the need for stronger support systems for artists experiencing difficult circumstances.
