Nana Akua Addo and Husband Harold Norman

Ghanaian fashion icon and actress Nana Akua Addo is at the centre of one of the biggest showbiz stories of the week after videos showing her with visible injuries spread across social media on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. Within hours, her husband, Harold Duodu Norman, hit back through his lawyers and a video of his own, and the matter is now in the hands of the police and the courts.

The case has split opinion online, with fans, celebrities and bloggers taking sides while both camps tell very different stories about what happened in the home.

How the Story Broke

The first clips appeared on TikTok, shared by a blogger. They showed the style star with a swollen lip, a cut under one eye and blood on her clothes, as well as tense family exchanges.

The footage quickly travelled to Instagram, Facebook and X, where many users accused her husband of domestic violence. Several reports also said one of the videos involved one of the couple’s children.

The couple married in a private civil ceremony in March 2022 and have kept much of their family life away from the cameras since then.

Nana Akua Addo’s Plea: ‘Please Take It Down’

Instead of a long statement, the actress responded briefly under the blogger’s post. Her message was a simple appeal to have the videos removed for the sake of her children.

“Please take it down. For my daughters’ sake, please take it down,” she wrote.

The short comment was shared widely, and many fans said it showed she was more worried about protecting her daughters than about public sympathy.

Harold Norman’s Lawyers Dispute the Claims

Later the same day, Harold Norman’s legal team, Ba Law Consult, issued a statement rejecting the claim that he caused the injuries seen in the circulating images.

According to the lawyers, the injury to her lip dates back to a 2021 argument over claims of infidelity. They alleged that during that quarrel she tried to stab him with a knife, and that he blocked the blade with a dressing mirror, which broke and injured her.

“It is therefore categorically false that our client assaulted her leading to the injury as she is speculating online,” the statement said. The lawyers added that he took her to hospital at the time.

The legal team also described the spread of the videos as “a deliberate effort to sway public opinion and generate sympathy.” They further claimed this was not the first such incident in the marriage. These are allegations made by one side and have not been independently confirmed.

Police and Court Process Underway

The lawyers’ statement confirmed that the Ghana Police Service’s Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) is carrying out a criminal investigation. A civil case filed by the actress, listed as Rosemond Akua Adobea vrs Harold Duodu Norman, is also before the court.

They urged the public to “allow the investigations and court process to run their course rather than draw conclusions from the videos alone.” As of Tuesday evening, the police had not issued any public statement on the matter.

Husband Shares His Own Video

Hours after the lawyers spoke, a separate video of Harold Norman surfaced on Instagram. In the selfie-style clip, he showed what he said were bite marks, scratches and bleeding on his hands and legs, along with torn clothes.

“Look, look at my clothes. She bit my hand. Look, look, look. She was biting me all over. I’m bleeding,” he said in the video.

The clip added a new twist to the story and left many social media users confused about whose account to believe.

Celebrities React

Several Ghanaian personalities have spoken up since the videos appeared. Media personality Mona Gucci, a childhood friend of the actress, shared a message of support on Instagram.

Singer Sister Afia also posted an emotional note on Facebook without going into the details of the dispute. “I genuinely admire you, and seeing what you’re going through touched me deeply,” she wrote, adding, “I understand that kind of pain because I’ve been there too.”

Outspoken media personality Afia Schwarzenegger also weighed in, claiming she has more videos linked to the case.

Who Is Nana Akua Addo?

She has acted in films such as Destiny’s Child, Blood, Speechless and Never Again, and has produced titles including Wannabe. In 2014 she won Best New Actress at the City People Entertainment Awards.

She is best known today as one of Africa’s most daring red carpet stars, a reputation that earned her several style awards. Her bold outfits regularly trend, including her show-stopping look at AMVCA 2026.
