Who Is Nana Konadu?
Nana Konadu came into the finale as what TV3 described as a “late-season momentum queen.” She grew stronger as the weeks went on and picked up several awards along the way.
She won Most Eloquent in Episode 4, shared Best Model honours on Fashion Night, and was named Star Performer of Week 10, the “One Africa” night.
The Côte d’Ivoire Act That Stood Out
On One Africa night, each contestant represented another African country. Nana Konadu took on Côte d’Ivoire and used it to show the shared Akan roots between the two nations.
She told the story of Queen Abla Pokou and celebrated Ivorian football and the popular Coupé-Décalé dance. The act earned her the Star Performer title that week.
Across the season, she became known for linking history, food, cocoa and tourism in her presentations, a style that fits the pageant’s focus on culture and advocacy.
A Strong Final Six
The 2026 finale was one of the most open in recent years. Almost every finalist had won major weekly awards before the big night.
Sessinam Comes Close
Volta’s Sessinam, a former Miss Malaika queen, was many fans’ favourite. She won Star Performer twice and Most Eloquent once during the season, and was backed by the Volta Regional Minister with GH¢10,000. She finished as first runner-up.
The Other Finalists
Upper East’s Ayinbomaa was a regular winner of the Most Eloquent award, while Greater Accra’s Lamiley was the first Star Performer of GMB@20. Ashanti’s Ampomaa and Western North’s Tiwaa also collected Best Costume and other weekly honours.
For fans who followed the show, this mix meant the crown could have gone to any of the six. In the end, the judges and the season’s scores favoured the Bono queen.
How Fans Reacted
Reactions on social media were mixed, as is usual after a Ghanaian pageant finale. Many viewers congratulated Nana Konadu and praised her steady growth over the weeks.
Others felt Sessinam or Lamiley deserved the crown. Under TV3’s Instagram posts, supporters of the runners-up shared messages such as “Congratulations, am pained but we move,” while others simply cheered on their favourite contestants for a great run.
Why the 20th Edition Matters
Ghana’s Most Beautiful started in 2007 and has crowned a new queen almost every year since. The 2026 edition marked 20 years of the show, and TV3 billed it as a legacy season.
Unlike many beauty contests, GMB focuses on more than looks. Contestants are judged on cultural knowledge, talent, public speaking and their ability to talk about issues affecting Ghanaian communities. The winner is expected to serve as a cultural ambassador and promote local traditions.
That focus on culture and tourism ties in with a wider push to show Ghana to the world, seen in projects like the new documentary The Eyes of Ghana.
What Comes Next
As the new queen, Nana Konadu will now take on a year of ambassadorial duties for TV3 and its partners. Fans will be watching to see which projects and causes she takes up during her reign.
For now, the Bono Region celebrates a big win, and Ghana’s Most Beautiful closes its 20th season with a new face carrying the crown.
