Stonebwoy and Stonebwoy
Ghanaian dancehall musician Stonebwoy has revisited his long-standing disagreement with rapper Sarkodie, claiming that the “Highest” hitmaker reported him to the police following a confrontation at the 2020 Black Love Concert.
Stonebwoy made the revelation during a TikTok Live session on September 8, 2026, while recounting what allegedly happened backstage at the event held at the Independence Square in Accra.
Stonebwoy Recalls Being Kept Backstage
According to Stonebwoy, he travelled from Togo to Ghana despite being unwell because he wanted to support Sarkodie’s virtual concert.
However, he claimed that he was kept backstage for several hours and subjected to what he described as “inhumane treatment.” The dancehall artiste said he even slept backstage and later became upset after realising that the arrangements he had been given had changed.
Stonebwoy said the situation eventually led to a confrontation involving Sarkodie’s manager, Angel Town.
‘I Did Not Slap Angel Town’
Stonebwoy denied intentionally hitting or slapping Angel Town during the confrontation.
He explained that although he was accused of trying to assault Sarkodie’s manager, he had no intention of causing trouble. He added that he later approached Sarkodie to explain his side after being told that his hand had accidentally made contact with Angel Town’s eye.
According to Stonebwoy, he apologised for the unintended contact before leaving the venue.
Sarkodie Reportedly Took the Matter to the Police
The “Into the Future” hitmaker claimed that the issue did not end after his apology. He alleged that Sarkodie and people around him reported the incident to the police and sought his arrest for allegedly injuring Angel Town.
Stonebwoy further claimed that he was informed that the police statement included allegations that he had been carrying a knife and guns during the incident. He said the investigator reportedly questioned the credibility of those claims and warned that anyone who made a false statement could face arrest.
Stonebwoy Regrets Public Apology
Stonebwoy also disclosed that he later apologised publicly over the incident, but now regrets doing so.
He said his lawyer remains unhappy with him because the public apology appeared to suggest that he had accepted responsibility for an incident he insists was not intentional.
The musician’s latest comments have brought renewed attention to the disagreement between two of Ghana’s biggest music stars, which began after the backstage incident at Sarkodie’s 2020 Black Love Concert. Sarkodie’s earlier account accused Stonebwoy of using physical confrontation to settle the disagreement, while Stonebwoy has continued to dispute the circumstances surrounding the incident.
