Sarkodie Announces 5-Track ‘DeJaVu’ EP
Ghanaian rap heavyweight Sarkodie has officially announced a new project. The rapper, popularly called the “Landlord”, says his five-track EP titled DeJaVu will be released on Friday, November 27, 2026, with the first single landing this Friday, October 16.
The news came through a short post on his Instagram page, and it has quickly become one of the biggest music talking points in Ghana this week. With the first single only days away, attention has turned to which of the five songs will open the new era.
What Sarkodie Said
Sarkodie kept the announcement simple and direct. In his caption, he wrote: “Good music season! #DeJaVu OUT November 27th 26 .. first single OUT this Friday 16th oct !”
He also told fans that a pre-save link was available in his Instagram bio, allowing listeners to add the project to their streaming libraries ahead of release day.
The DeJaVu Tracklist
The EP is short and focused, with five songs in total. Here is the tracklist Sarkodie shared:
- Dejavu
- Antigua
- Nobody
- Cold
- Promises
The title track, “Dejavu”, opens the project. However, Sarkodie has not yet confirmed which of the five songs will be released as the first single on Friday.
No guest features or producers have been named so far. Fans will have to wait for more details as the release date gets closer.
The Artwork
The cover art for DeJaVu shows a microphone standing on a stage in front of a red curtain. It is a clean, theatrical image that hints at a performance-driven project.
Music platform GRUNGECAKE described the EP as a bilingual offering that mixes Twi and English, which has long been part of Sarkodie’s signature style.

Why the EP Matters
Sarkodie has been one of the most active names in Ghanaian music this year. Instead of a full album, he has kept fans fed with a steady run of singles and collaborations throughout 2026.
One of the most talked-about was “Everlasting”, his June collaboration with Shatta Wale. The record brought together two of Ghana’s biggest stars, the dancehall king and the rap heavyweight, on one song.
He also worked with younger acts such as King Paluta, Worlasi, DopeNation and Yaadman on singles released between February and August. These features showed his continued interest in working across generations and genres.
With DeJaVu, fans now get a compact body of work from the rapper, rather than another stand-alone single. For many listeners, a five-track EP is the perfect size: long enough to tell a story, but short enough to play on repeat.
Timing Ahead of December
The November 27 release date also puts the EP right at the doorstep of the busy December season in Ghana. That is when concerts, festivals and homecoming events fill up the calendar, and fresh music tends to dominate parties and radio.
Other Ghanaian acts are also lining up big year-end moves. Wendy Shay recently announced her Shay Concert for November 21, which shows how packed the end of the year is shaping up to be.
The Guessing Game Begins
Because Sarkodie has only shared the song titles, listeners are left to guess what each record will sound like. Titles such as “Antigua” and “Promises” suggest a lighter, melodic side, while “Cold” and “Nobody” leave room for the sharp rap he is known for.
Until Friday, though, the sound of the project remains under wraps.
A Quick Look at Sarkodie’s Career
Born Michael Owusu Addo, Sarkodie grew up in Tema and rose to fame with his fast flow and sharp Twi rap. He is widely regarded as one of Africa’s most successful rappers.
In 2012, he won the BET Award for Best International Act: Africa, a major moment for Ghanaian hip-hop. He runs his own label, Sarkcess Music, and has released several well-received albums over the years, including Sarkology, No Pressure and Jamz.
He is also known for his influence on the industry, with many artistes speaking openly about his impact. Northern Ghana star Fancy Gadam once recalled paying Sarkodie GH¢120,000 for a collaboration, a reminder of the rapper’s pull in the market.
What Happens Next
The first single drops on Friday, October 16. Fans who pre-save the EP will get the project in their libraries as soon as it goes live on November 27.
For now, Sarkodie has set the stage with a clear message: it is “good music season”. Halmblog will bring you the first single and more updates on DeJaVu as they come.
