Davido
Davido is going after Grammy gold again. The Nigerian superstar has entered his sixth studio album, Oriadé, and four of his songs across several categories for the 2027 Grammy Awards, with the album itself put forward for the top prize, Album of the Year.
The full list of entries was shared on X by Grammy Guru (@thegrammyguru), an account that tracks submissions for each Grammy season, and reported by Vanguard on Tuesday, October 13. The news comes just as first-round voting for the 69th Grammy Awards is underway.

What Is Oriadé About?
Davido released Oriadé on Friday, July 31, 2026. The album marks his 15 years in music, and the opening single “I Know Who I Be” looks back on that long journey.
With 13 tracks, it is the shortest studio album of his career. His five earlier studio albums each came with 17 songs.
The album features a wide mix of guests from Africa and beyond, including Ghana’s Black Sherif, American singer Leon Thomas, French-Malian star Aya Nakamura, Mayorkun, FOLA, Llona, NO11, JAZZWRLD and GL_Ceejay.
Davido’s Grammy History
This is not Davido’s first time in the Grammy conversation. At the 66th Grammy Awards in 2024, he earned his first nominations, with his album Timeless and the songs “Unavailable” and “Feel” all getting nods.
He returned to the list at the 68th Grammys, where “With You” featuring Omah Lay was nominated for Best African Music Performance. When that nomination was announced in November 2025, he celebrated on Instagram with a simple caption: “All Glory To God! Job Not Done.” The award eventually went to South Africa’s Tyla.
Davido has also become a voting member of the Recording Academy, the body that runs the Grammys. He described that experience as “a game-changer.”
Why These Entries Matter
Submitting music is only the first step. Recording Academy members now vote in the first round to decide which entries make the final list of nominees.
That means Davido’s camp will be watching closely until November 16, when the nominations for the 69th edition are announced. An Album of the Year nod would be a massive moment, not just for Davido but for Afrobeats as a whole.
The Best African Music Performance category is set to be crowded once again. Davido himself has three songs in the race, and other Nigerian and African stars are also expected to push their own records.
Part of a Bigger Push
The entries are part of a wider push by Nigerian artistes to win recognition at major international awards. Back home, the awards calendar has also shifted, with the 18th Headies now moved to April 2027 in Toronto.
Final Word
With Oriadé and four songs in the running, Davido has given himself plenty of chances at the 2027 Grammys. Fans now have just over a month to wait for the nominations. Whatever happens on November 16, the “Job Not Done” mindset he shared after his last nomination is clearly still driving him.
