Tenia Abraham Laid to Rest in Abuja

Nollywood actress and former beauty queen Tenia Abraham Omenogor has been laid to rest in Abuja, just four days after she died at the age of 32. Family, friends and well-wishers gathered on Saturday, October 17, 2026, to bid her a final goodbye at Gudu Cemetery, in a quiet ceremony that has left many fans across Nigeria heartbroken.

Her death, which her family linked to a kidney infection, has sparked a wave of sadness online, coming in the same week the Nigerian entertainment industry lost gospel singer Toluwanisings.

How the News Broke

According to her family, Tenia died on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, after suffering from a kidney infection. The family did not make the news public right away.

On Thursday, October 15, they shared a statement on her TikTok page announcing her passing. A day later, on Friday, October 16, an obituary was posted on her Instagram page, giving her years as 1993 to 2026.

The announcements quickly spread across Nigerian blogs and social media, with many fans saying they could hardly believe the news.

What Her Family Said

In their statement, the family said they were announcing her death “with heavy hearts and deep sorrow.” They described her as “a vibrant talent, a loving daughter, sister and friend.”

The obituary called her “a beautiful soul, a gifted talent, gone too soon” and “a shining star.” It added that she “lived with passion, touched many lives with her talent and left behind a legacy that will never be forgotten.”

In one of the most touching lines of the tribute, the family wrote: “Your light may have gone out from this world, but your talent, beauty and kindness will forever live in our hearts.”

Burial at Gudu Cemetery, Abuja

The burial notice shared by the family asked mourners to gather at the mortuary of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Jabi, Abuja, by 9am on Saturday, October 17.

From there, the procession moved to Gudu Cemetery, where she was buried at 10am. Further details from the ceremony have not been made public.

Who Was Tenia Abraham?

Tenia Abraham Omenogor was known to fans as a Nollywood actress with a bright smile and a lively personality. Alongside her acting work, she made her name in the pageant world, where she was crowned Beauty Queen South South in 2020.

That title gave her a platform beyond the screen, and she kept in touch with fans through social media, including the TikTok and Instagram pages where her family later shared news of her passing.

Her family’s tribute focused on her talent, her kindness and her love for the people around her, words that many of her followers have repeated in their own messages since the news broke.

Her Final Post Resurfaces

After her death was announced, one of her last social media posts began to circulate widely. In August 2026, she shared a smiling photo of herself with a short caption: “One day we will leave this world. Let’s love lead.”

The simple message has now taken on a deeper meaning for her followers. Some fans described it as a gentle reminder to value the people in their lives, and many flooded the post with tributes.

Fans React

The comment sections under her posts have filled with shock, prayers and “rest in peace” messages. One fan asked, “And I ask again, why are we here?” while another simply wrote, “What?”

Under the resurfaced August post, one follower wrote, “Hope it is not true someone should please say something please.” Another commented, “This caption isn’t aging well. I truly wish I can get a reply rn.”

Several followers also said her final words had pushed them to be more intentional about showing love to their friends and families.

A Painful Week for Nigerian Entertainment

Tenia’s passing comes during a difficult week for the industry. On October 14, 2026, popular gospel minister Toluwanisings died at the age of 41, hours after ministering at a worship event in Ibadan.

The two deaths, coming so close together, have led many Nigerians online to speak about the loss of young talents and to call on one another to pay closer attention to their health.

Nollywood has also spent recent weeks mourning legendary actor Olu Jacobs, whose night of tributes in Lagos drew some of the biggest names in the industry.

Tenia Abraham Omenogor’s life was short, but the outpouring of love since her death shows how many people she touched, both on screen and on the pageant stage. As her family said in their tribute, her talent, beauty and kindness will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. Halmblog sends condolences to her family, friends and fans.
