“I called him Bra Kwame; he was an amazing person and he respected women a lot,” she said.
The actress explained that Dzokoto had recently faced health problems, but those around him thought the worst was behind him. She recalled attending a thanksgiving service for him and said people close to him believed he was recovering.
“It’s just recently that he had complications with his health and, by God’s grace, everything was okay,” she said.
A Promise of a Befitting Burial
Gloria said the loss had hit his colleagues hard because of the kind of energy he brought to every room.
“We wish he would still be with us because he’s such a positive personality,” she added.
She then pledged that the creative community will stand by his memory. “He’s an honourable man, so we will make sure we come together and give him a befitting burial,” she said. No funeral date has been publicly announced yet.

Mzbel’s Comments Spark Debate
Not every reaction has been a simple tribute. On UTV’s United Showbiz on Saturday, October 24, singer Mzbel claimed she “saw Kwame Dzokoto’s death coming.”
She pointed to his stomach, which she said looked “bloated and very hard,” and suggested that eating many dishes in one sitting on his Edziban show may have affected his health. “I think his condition might have been caused by the Edziban series he was doing,” she said.
Mzbel said she regretted never sharing her concerns with him and urged food content creators to put their health before views and likes. Her remarks are her personal opinion, as no medical cause of death has been confirmed.
Tributes From Colleagues
Since the news broke, actors, presenters and fans have filled social media with memories of the man many called Judge Koboo.
Media personality Kwadwo Dickson, who called Dzokoto his brother, said in a video: “The creative industry has lost a legend.” Efiewura co-star Koo Fori shared clips of the late actor on TikTok and wrote that he was “so sad and heartbroken.”
Actress Akuapem Poloo posted a scene she once shot with him and joked in her caption about returning GH¢2,000 to “Judge Koboo.” Actor Van Vicker also remembered his TV shows and repeated his popular “Dzidzii” slogan.
NDC Mourns a Loyal Member
The National Democratic Congress, of which Dzokoto was a member, observed a minute’s silence in his honour at a press briefing in Accra. In a statement, the party’s Western Regional Communications Bureau described him as “a cherished personality among his colleagues, supporters and the general public.”
A Career That Touched Many Homes
For many Ghanaians, Dzokoto will always be Judge Koboo, the colourful character he played in the popular TV series Efiewura. On screen, his wife Benyiwa was played by the late Mercy Little Smith, whose death he mourned publicly about two years ago.
He later became the face of TV3’s Edziban, a food and tourism show that took viewers around Ghana to taste local dishes. He also worked in radio and did comedy and advertising voice-overs.
Beyond entertainment, he contested the Tarkwa-Nsuaem parliamentary seat on the NDC ticket in 2016 but lost. In August 2025, he graduated from the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College with a master’s degree in Defence and International Politics.
Shortly before his death, he was named among the cast of The 70 Slate, a three-film project by Shirley Frimpong-Manso and Peter Sedufia to mark Ghana’s 70th independence anniversary in 2027.
