Hopeson Adorye Surprises Empress Gifty With a New Changan SUV
The controversy follows a birthday surprise organised by Hopeson Adorye for his wife after she returned from a trip.
Empress Gifty was welcomed home by close friends and family members before her husband unveiled a brand-new Changan Q07 Plug-in Hybrid 2026 model.
The gospel musician was visibly overwhelmed by the gesture and became emotional as she appreciated her husband’s effort.
Sharing the experience on social media, Empress Gifty wrote:
“That feeling when you’re completely overwhelmed by love. I had only just touched down from a trip only to walk in and meet some of my closest friends gathered at home to celebrate my birthday with me. I was speechless!”
She further described the vehicle as the biggest and most memorable part of the surprise, thanking Hopeson for his love and support.
Afia Schwarzenegger Takes Aim at Empress Gifty
Afia Schwarzenegger’s criticism centres on the gospel musician’s emotional reaction to receiving the vehicle, with the social media personality reportedly questioning why she would become overwhelmed to the point of fainting over a car.
She described the reaction as shameful, using the phrase “You are shameless for fainting over a Chinese car” in her jab at the singer.
The comments have added another layer to the public discussion surrounding Empress Gifty’s birthday gift, particularly as the vehicle’s Chinese origin has become part of the online conversation.
However, the criticism should be understood as Afia’s personal opinion rather than an established assessment of the value of the gift or the singer’s reaction.
