The popular Kente Cloth widely known among Ashantis rub shoulders among other well dressed celebrities at the 2023 NAACP Awards as Actress Sheryl Lee glows in the costume

Sheryl had a wonderful career appearing in a number of films during including The Mighty Quinn along with Denzel Washington. She won Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Female for her performance in the 1990 comedy-drama film To Sleep with Anger.

The 54th NAACP Image Awards, just as other big events saw famous celebrities expressed their passion and lifestyle through costumes among these celebrities was American actress but styled up in what many believe is the African way of expressing beauty, the Kente cloth.

Celebrities who in attendance at the NAACP included Tyler James Williams, Kyla Pratt, Quinta Brunson, Viola Davis, Will Smith and Angela Bassett, as honoured at the Image Awards for their achievement in the arts, entertainment and culture.

Reports state that actress Sheryl’s daughter obtained this beautiful costume from award-winning Ghanaian fashion brand, Pistis owned by a Ghanaian couple Kabutey and Sumaiya Dzietror based in Accra.

Sheryl Lee was nominated for her supporting role in “Abbott Elementary” in the NAACP Awards.

On the red carpet, fans saw their favourite celebrity Sheryl in a bright orange with ruffle sleeve and stripe, a bead-encrusted bodice and kente skirt.

The actress also donned gold statement earrings from Misho and a ring from Nikos Koulis.
