FOLA 9 Album

Nigerian singer FOLA has unveiled the full tracklist for his second studio album, 9, and it is packed with big names. The 14-track project, which lands on Friday, October 9, 2026, features Davido, Ayra Starr, BNXN, Darkoo, Bella Shmurda and Zlatan, setting up one of the most talked-about Afrobeats releases of the month.

The singer shared the tracklist with fans this week, teasing the drop with a simple message: “9 is coming.” The album follows his debut, Catharsis, released in September 2025, and marks the next big step for one of Nigeria’s fastest-rising young stars.

Quick Facts About FOLA’s ‘9’ Album

  • Artist: FOLA (real name Afolarin Odunlami)
  • Album: 9 – his second studio album
  • Release date: Friday, October 9, 2026
  • Number of tracks: 14
  • Featured artists: Davido, Ayra Starr, BNXN, Darkoo, Bella Shmurda and Zlatan

  • Previous album: Catharsis (2025)

The Full ‘9’ Tracklist

According to the tracklist shared ahead of release, here is how the album runs from start to finish:

  • 1. awade
  • 2. how many?
  • 3. 2am in toronto (feat. Davido)
  • 4. stubborn
  • 5. miss u ii
  • 6. in order
  • 7. treat u right (feat. Ayra Starr)
  • 8. attention!
  • 9. fine $hit
  • 10. waf
  • 11. crime
  • 12. my type (feat. BNXN)
  • 13. hold u down (feat. Darkoo)
  • 14. it’s over (feat. Bella Shmurda & Zlatan)

Eight of the 14 songs are solo records, which gives FOLA plenty of room to carry the album on his own voice and pen. The six guest acts are spread across the second half of the project.

Big Features: Davido, Ayra Starr and More

The biggest headline is the Davido link-up on “2am in toronto,” the third track on the album. A collaboration with one of Afrobeats’ most successful stars is a major moment for a young artist only on his second album.

Fans already know “treat u right,” the duet with Ayra Starr. The mid-tempo love song was released in July 2026 and was produced by Shallythechampion, with Johnny Drille handling the final polish.

“it’s over,” which closes the album, brings together Bella Shmurda and Zlatan. The song is already out, and you can still listen to “It’s over” by FOLA ft. Bella Shmurda and Zlatan here on Halmblog. BNXN appears on “my type,” while UK rapper-singer Darkoo joins on “hold u down.”

A 2Baba Sample on ‘crime’

One detail that has caught attention is track 11, “crime.” The song samples a classic by 2Baba, one of the legends of Nigerian music. It is a nod to an earlier generation from an artist who grew up on their sound.

‘miss u ii’ Already Out as a Preview

FOLA also gave fans an early taste with “miss u ii (nriri),” the album’s fifth track. It is a romantic record about missing a partner and wanting to keep a relationship strong and private.

What the Title ‘9’ Means

The album name ties into FOLA’s football-inspired image. He has called himself “the striker,” the player who usually wears the number 9 shirt. In football, the number 9 is the one the team relies on to score when it matters most.

That is the idea behind the album. FOLA wants to be seen as the artist fans can count on to deliver hits every time he steps up.

What FOLA Said About the Album

Speaking about the project, FOLA said he “made this one with some of my favourite producers, musicians and artists.” He added that every song on the album came from something real in his life.

He also shared a hope for listeners, saying he wants the album to “find you at the right time,” wherever fans are when they press play.

FOLA’s Rise So Far

FOLA has grown quickly over the past few years. His song “Alone” became a major hit, and its remix with BNXN reached No. 1 on the Nigeria Official Streaming Songs chart.

In December 2024, he released his debut EP, What a Feeling, which featured Bella Shmurda, Magixx, BNXN and BhadBoi OML. His collaboration “Paparazzi” with Shoday also topped the Official Nigeria Top 100 in January 2026.

He followed that with his debut album Catharsis in 2025. He is signed to Dangbana Republik, working with EMPIRE, and earned 10 nominations at the 2026 Headies Awards.

A Busy October for Nigerian Music

FOLA’s album arrives during a packed month for Nigerian releases. Fireboy DML has also set October 16 as the release date for his fifth album, “ZUKO!”, so fans have plenty to look forward to over the next two weeks.

With strong singles already out and a guest list this big, 9 is one of the albums to watch this weekend.

Final Word

FOLA’s 9 looks like his boldest move yet. It mixes personal stories, love songs and big-name features, all built around the idea of being the one who delivers. Fans will find out if the striker scores when the album drops on Friday, October 9, 2026
