Nigerian Film Industry Suffers Another Loss with the Death of Cynthia Okereke

The Nigerian film industry has suffered another loss with the announcement of the death of veteran Nollywood actress Cynthia Okereke. Actor and filmmaker Joseph Okechukwu took to Instagram to share the unfortunate news, revealing that the 63-year-old actress passed away on Tuesday, June 11.

He expressed his devastation and shared a photo of Cynthia Okereke, paying tribute to her as one of the amazing people he has known for over two decades.

The news of Cynthia Okereke’s death comes almost a year after she and her colleague Clemson Cornell, also known as Agbogidi, were kidnapped for a week while working in Enugu State, Nigeria. After her release, the actress expressed gratitude for the efforts and prayers that ensured her survival.

She mentioned that she had endured a week without food or water during her captivity but remained determined to continue working for her fans.

The loss of Cynthia Okereke is a significant blow to the Nigerian movie industry, as she was a respected and beloved figure within Nollywood. Her contributions to the film industry will be remembered, and she will be greatly missed by her colleagues and fans alike.
