Burna Boy to Headline Rolling Loud India 2026 in Mumbai

Burna Boy is heading to India for the first time. The Nigerian superstar has been named one of the headline acts for Rolling Loud India 2026, the second edition of the hip-hop festival’s Indian chapter, which takes place in Mumbai on December 12 and 13.

The African Giant will top the bill on Day 1 alongside American producer Metro Boomin, in what will be a debut performance in the country for both acts. The full lineup was unveiled on Monday, October 19, 2026, and it places Burna Boy among some of the biggest names in global rap.

Burna Boy Leads Day 1 With Metro Boomin

According to the lineup released by the organisers, Burna Boy and Metro Boomin will share headline duties on Saturday, December 12. Big Sean, who is also making his first appearance in India, is on the same day’s bill.

Other Day 1 acts include GoldLink, Dhanda Nyoliwala, slayr, ApolloRed1, Paal Dabba, SoSoCamo, Steel Banglez, Snappy Kaal and Jorjiana.

For Nigerian fans, the booking is another sign of how far Afrobeats now travels, with an African act sharing top billing at one of the world’s best-known hip-hop festivals.

Karan Aujla and Skepta Lead Day 2

Punjabi star Karan Aujla, who headlined the festival’s first Indian edition in 2025, returns to close the event on Sunday, December 13.

British rapper Skepta, who has Nigerian roots, is also billed for Day 2, with organisers describing it as his first and only India performance. ScHoolboy Q, Seedhe Maut, BabyChiefDoIt, Raja Kumari, Wazir Patar, NAVZ-47, Robb Bank$ and several DJs complete the second day.

In total, the lineup features more than 10 artistes with Indian roots, covering Punjabi, Haryanvi, Tamil, Marathi and Gujarati rap.

What the Organisers Said

Rolling Loud co-founder and CEO Matt Zingler said the team was struck by how Indian fans embraced both international and local acts at the first edition. “One thing that really stood out to us in India was how open the fans were to everything,” he said. “If the music connects, they show up for it.”

Rahul Ganjoo, CEO of District, which produces the festival in partnership with Rolling Loud, said the lineup was shaped by India’s grassroots rap scene. “Walk into a cypher in Delhi or a small gig in Mumbai and you will see who people actually turn up for,” he said, adding that “it is rarely the same list of artists you’d see on social media.”

Tickets and Payment Options

Tickets are being sold through the District app. Buyers can use a “Reserve Now, Pay Later” option, paying 50 percent of the ticket price upfront and the balance by 11:59pm on November 20, 2026.

A refund guarantee also covers eligible cancellations made by December 1, 2026. Full ticket categories and terms are listed on the app, while venue details will be shared later.

A Big Year-End for Burna Boy

The India date adds to a busy period for Burna Boy, whose global profile keeps rising. He recently hosted a radio station on the soundtrack of a major video game, as we reported in our story on Burna Boy’s AfroBank FM on GTA VI.

The Port Harcourt-born singer won the Grammy for Best Global Music Album in 2021 with Twice as Tall. He also made history as the first African artiste to headline a stadium show in the UK.

Nigerian Stars Keep Breaking New Ground

Burna Boy’s booking comes during a strong run for Nigerian music abroad. Just days ago, Asake sold out London’s O2 Arena for a third time, while Ayra Starr became the first African artiste to headline the NFL London halftime show.

At home, December is shaping up to be just as busy, with Wizkid confirming homecoming shows in Abuja and Lagos for the festive season.
