Nana Romeo
The long-running feud between radio personality Nana Romeo and Prophet Nigel Gaisie has flared up again. Nana Romeo has called the founder of Prophetic Hill Chapel a “liar” after the preacher claimed on radio that he used to pay Romeo’s rent, and has dared him to bring proof.

How the Latest Exchange Started
The new round of back-and-forth began on Thursday, October 29, 2026, when Nigel Gaisie spoke about Nana Romeo in an interview on Accra-based Neat FM.
The preacher described Romeo as someone he once treated like a “son” before they became friends. According to him, Romeo often came to him for financial help, especially for rent.
“Nana Romeo became my son and used to come to me for rent,” Gaisie said. He added that he gave Romeo rent money, but suggested the broadcaster may not have been happy with the amount.
Gaisie explained that he was under financial pressure at the time. “I can’t give what I don’t have,” he said.
Gaisie Denies Taking Romeo’s Girlfriend
In the same interview, the prophet addressed the old claim that he had an affair with a woman Nana Romeo was dating. He firmly denied it.
“I can tell you on this platform that I don’t like light-skinned women,” Gaisie said, noting that the woman in question was light-skinned and that he had never dated women like her.
He suggested that a junior associate may have told Romeo the woman had visited him alone with her child, and that this may have fuelled the allegations. Gaisie also said he had forgiven Romeo, called their quarrel a misunderstanding and said he was open to making peace.
Nana Romeo Fires Back: “Liar! I Dare You to Prove It”
Nana Romeo did not take the rent claim lightly. In a video shared on TikTok and reported by GhanaWeb on Saturday, October 31, he told the preacher to stop spreading false stories about him.
The broadcaster insisted that Gaisie never gave him money for rent. He said he already had a place to stay when the two first met.
According to Romeo, what actually happened was different. He said Gaisie promised to reward him for bringing him onto Accra FM, and the promised reward was land for his mother. Romeo said that promise was never fulfilled, but he had no problem with it.
He said Gaisie had no right to make false statements about him on radio, and challenged the preacher to show proof that he ever paid his rent.
“Don’t Use Me for Damage Control”
Romeo also revealed that Gaisie had told staff at Peace FM that he wanted the two of them to settle their differences.
He said he was willing to forgive the preacher, but he had a clear warning: “If you want to reconcile, don’t use me for damage control.”

Background: A Friendship That Turned Sour
According to Gaisie, he first met Nana Romeo when the broadcaster, then at Accra FM, wanted to interview him after the death of dancehall star Ebony Reigns. The two became close after that.
The relationship later broke down. In an interview with TV host Stacy Amoateng, Romeo said things went wrong after a junior pastor of Gaisie’s allegedly told him that his wealthy girlfriend was in a romantic relationship with the prophet.
That interview led to a legal battle. In 2023, Gaisie sued Nana Romeo, who was then working at Accra FM, and Stacy Amoateng at the High Court in Amasaman over the allegations.
Romeo is no stranger to speaking his mind. He recently called out Ghanaian musicians for staying silent about highlife singer Barosky, whose difficult situation in the UK drew national attention.
How Social Media Reacted
Gaisie’s latest interview drew mixed reactions online, with many social media users mocking the “light-skinned women” comment.
“Only you, every day controversies,” one user, Biggest Sarah, wrote, as quoted by YEN.com.gh.
Another user, YooYoCloset, commented: “Body language is everything. Mannerism speaks volumes. Pay attention.”
A third, EXPO GRAPHICS MULTIMEDIA, wrote: “That is not the story, Nigel. If you do, you go explain.”
What Next for Nana Romeo and Nigel Gaisie?
Both men now say they are open to forgiveness, but they clearly do not agree on what happened between them. Gaisie says he helped Romeo with rent. Romeo says that never happened and wants proof.
