Gunshot shared his account of the visit in this video on his YouTube channel:

What Happened During the Strika Nsawam Prison Visit

According to Gunshot, the moment Strika saw him at the facility, he went down on his knees and pleaded for forgiveness.

Gunshot said Strika told him nobody had come to see him since he was moved to Nsawam. He said hearing this left him deeply saddened.

The visit was first reported by YEN.com.gh, which noted that Gunshot had shared the details in a video on his channel.

Why Strika Is in Prison

Strika rose to fame as a child actor in the 2015 Netflix film Beasts of No Nation, which also starred Idris Elba and fellow Ghanaian Abraham Attah.

In August 2026, residents reportedly confronted him at the Kwashieman footbridge in Accra after allegedly catching him removing its metal railings. A video from Saturday, August 29, showed him holding the railings and saying he planned to sell them as scrap, according to GhanaWeb.

He was later reportedly convicted. In a video shared on X and seen by GhanaWeb, Strika told Gunshot after his sentencing: “Father, they have jailed me.” He also said, “Father, I am very stubborn.”

One Year, Not Seven

Reports in September claimed Strika had been handed a seven-year sentence. Gunshot, however, publicly dismissed those reports.

In a video recorded in Kumasi on Monday, September 14, 2026, he said the actor had been sentenced to one year, according to Pulse Ghana. He appealed to bloggers and media houses to correct the earlier figure and said he hoped Strika would use the time to reflect and make better choices.

Gunshot’s video addressing the sentence is below:

A Relationship That Broke Down in 2025

The prison visit comes after a public fallout between the two. In January 2025, Gunshot announced that Strika had left the camp of Kumawood actor Dr Likee, also known as Ras Nene, and returned to his family.

Gunshot accused the young actor of several wrongdoings while he lived in his home, including theft. Strika first denied the claims during a TikTok live session, insisting he had not taken money or an iPhone from Gunshot.

Days later, he went live again, admitted he was at fault and asked both Gunshot and Dr Likee to forgive him and take him back.

Fans React to Gunshot’s Gesture

Reactions to Strika’s arrest and jail term have been mixed since September. The news of the visit, however, has drawn largely warm comments for Gunshot.

Under the YouTube video, many viewers commended him for going to see Strika even after the insults the actor had previously directed at him. One commenter called him a good person and wished him blessings for continuing to visit, while another described his kindness as rare.

For now, Strika remains at Nsawam, and the visit has renewed public conversation about the former child star’s struggles and the people still willing to stand by him.
