i have no reason to fight you – shatta wale responds to slim buster, urges veteran to end online back and forth

Shatta Wale

Shatta Wale has finally responded to the recent comments from veteran musician Slim Buster, and he did it with a calm message rather than a diss. In a post on his Facebook timeline, the Shatta Movement boss told the older artiste he has never disrespected him and asked him to bring the back-and-forth to an end.

The message, which surfaced on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, quickly became one of the most talked-about showbiz stories in Ghana, with blogs and fans reacting to Shatta Wale’s unusually peaceful tone.

Here is the Facebook post in which Shatta Wale addressed Slim Buster:

What Started the Exchange

Slim Buster, a veteran Ghanaian musician based in Europe, has spent the past few weeks in Ghana granting media interviews and sharing his views on the local music industry.

In one of those interviews, he questioned Shatta Wale’s musical talent. According to reports, he suggested that Shatta Wale does not match his own ability, or that of fellow dancehall stars Samini and Stonebwoy.

He also reportedly argued that Shatta Wale’s fame comes more from his outspoken personality and his ability to draw attention than from his music. GhanaWeb further reported that Slim Buster claimed to have more money than his younger colleagues and described himself as the most handsome among his peers.

Shatta Wale’s Response: ‘I Have No Reason to Fight You’

Known for firing back hard at critics, Shatta Wale took a different route this time. In his Facebook post, he made it clear he does not want a fight with the veteran.

“Slim Buster, please, you know very well that I would never disrespect you,” he wrote.

He added that he was surprised the older musician was letting online chatter affect him: “In fact, I am quite shocked at how you are allowing certain things happening on the internet to get to you.”

Shatta Wale stressed that he had not attacked Slim Buster in public and said fans would struggle to understand why the veteran was directing his complaints at him. He promised he would never come at him “with disrespect or hostility.”

‘With All Due Respect, Please Put an End to This’

The “On God” hitmaker went on to advise Slim Buster on how to handle social media. “The internet is not an easy place, and not every comment deserves a reaction,” he wrote.

He also urged him directly: “With all due respect, please put an end to this.” Shatta Wale insisted the message was not a publicity move, describing it as “a little advice from a younger brother to the senior.”

Slim Buster’s Recent Remarks on Social Media and Critics

This is not the first time Slim Buster has made headlines in recent weeks. In early September, a clip from a TikTok live session went viral after he pushed back at people comparing him to other artistes.

During that session, as reported by GhanaWeb, he said: “When I started, Shatta Wale’s mother hadn’t even given birth to him.” He also claimed he does not perform at shows because promoters cannot afford him, adding: “I have a very good job that even pays me better than music.”

On October 12, he appeared on Adom TV and spoke about the mockery he faced when he first joined social media. “When I came to social media in the beginning, it wasn’t easy,” he said. “They called me poor and other things.”

In the same interview, he described fanbase rivalry as “demonic” and argued that veterans who helped build Ghana’s music industry deserve respect. He also said artistes who keep quiet when false claims are made about them risk letting the public believe those claims.

A Calmer Side of Shatta Wale

Shatta Wale’s response comes just days after a busy period for the dancehall star, who drew a huge crowd to the Accra Sports Stadium for ShattaFest 2026.

Ghanaian music fans are used to sharp exchanges between big names, and comparisons between Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy and Samini have fuelled online debates for years. Just this week, Sarkodie also spoke about a video involving Stonebwoy that had stirred conversation online.

Meanwhile, Samini, one of the names in Slim Buster’s comparison, recently explained why he stays away from X Spaces and TikTok Live, another sign of how some senior artistes approach online noise.

Fans React

Many observers noted that Shatta Wale’s message was far softer than what he usually serves critics. Several outlets framed it as the younger star choosing peace over another public beef, while the exchange has kept both names trending on Ghanaian entertainment pages.

No public reply from Slim Buster to Shatta Wale’s post had been reported at the time of writing.

Final Word

For now, Shatta Wale appears determined to keep things respectful. Whether Slim Buster accepts the olive branch or continues his media rounds remains to be seen. Halmblog will keep you updated on any new developments.
