A Look Back at Party Live With Gyakie

Gyakie’s last concert of this kind was Party Live with Gyakie, held at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra on December 16, 2022, the same day as her birthday.

That night is still remembered by many fans. She opened her set with a live band performance of “Nana Nyame” and performed songs from her My Diary EP live for the first time.

There were plenty of surprises too. Samini showed up mid-show, talked about performing with Gyakie’s father and gave her a gift. Bisa Kdei joined her on their song “Sor Mi Mu,” while King Promise and R2Bees also made surprise appearances.

The show ended with her viral single “Something,” with DWP Academy joining her on stage for the finale.

Why the December 12 Date Matters

The new date falls just four days before Gyakie’s birthday on December 16. It also puts Gyakie Live right in the middle of Ghana’s busy December season, when many top acts stage their own shows. Sarkodie’s Rapperholic 2026 is among the major events fans are already talking about this year.

New Music and a New Deal

The concert news comes at a busy time for the singer. Days before the announcement, she released “Your Body (Crazy)”, an Afro-fusion song produced by AfroLektra that mixes English and Twi.

According to MyJoyOnline, the single is the first look at her third EP, The Dawn. It also kicks off a new distribution partnership between Gyakie, her own label FlipTheMusic and Warner Music Africa.

The deal is meant to push her music further across key African markets and beyond. Gyakie remains independent, and FlipTheMusic continues to lead her creative direction.

On her official YouTube channel, she has also started a dance challenge for the song, inviting fans to dance along with her. She has been on a media run as well, including a sit-down with Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz on October 19.

Who Is Gyakie?

Gyakie, real name Jackline Acheampong, was born on December 16, 1999, and raised in Kumasi. She is the daughter of highlife musician Nana Acheampong and grew up around music, spending time in the studio with her father from a young age.

From “Forever” to After Midnight

Her big breakthrough came with “Forever,” from her 2020 debut EP Seed. The song topped charts in Ghana, Kenya and Nigeria, and a remix with Nigerian star Omah Lay followed in March 2021.

She followed up with the My Diary EP in 2022, which featured Davido, and released her debut album After Midnight in 2025.

Awards and Recognition

Her work has earned her several honours. These include 3Music Woman of the Year in 2022, Best West African Artiste at The Headies in 2022, and International Collaboration of the Year at the 2022 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards for the “Forever” remix.

What Fans Can Expect

With a new single out, a new EP on the way and a fresh distribution deal behind her, Gyakie Live could be the perfect stage for fans to hear her new songs alongside the hits that made her name.

If her 2022 show is anything to go by, fans can also hope for a few surprise guests. For now, they will have to wait for the full lineup and ticket details.

Final Word

Gyakie Live is officially on for December 12 at Ghud Park. Four years after her last headline show, the songbird is ready to give her fans another big night. Stay with Halmblog for ticket news, guest acts and updates as the date gets closer.
