Pastor Jimmy Odukoya Remarries

Pastor Jimmy Odukoya, the senior pastor of The Fountain of Life Church and the actor many film fans know from Hollywood’s The Woman King, has remarried. On Sunday, November 1, 2026, he stood at the altar of the church’s headquarters in Ilupeju, Lagos, and introduced his new wife, Pastor Mo Odukoya, as the ministry’s new First Lady. The surprise announcement has since become one of the most talked-about celebrity stories in Nigeria.

A clip from the Sunday service, shared on Instagram, shows the moment the couple stood together before the church.

‘I Was Looking and Searching, and I Found’

Speaking to the congregation before calling his wife forward, the 2023 successor to the late Pastor Taiwo Odukoya said he had been navigating life alone since he took over the leadership of the church.

According to P.M. News, he told members: “I was looking and searching and I found.” He then added: “It is my wife, so allow me to introduce to you for the first time, Pastor Mrs. Mo Odukoya, my wife. A new First Lady.”

Members welcomed the couple with cheers and applause as Mo joined him at the altar.

Mo Odukoya’s first words as First Lady

The new First Lady also addressed the church briefly. “It’s my pleasure and honour to be here and stand alongside my husband,” she said, adding that she was happy to join the ministry family.

The Cryptic Post That Started It All

The news did not come completely out of the blue. On Saturday, October 31, Jimmy Odukoya shared a photo of a man’s and a woman’s hands, both wearing rings, with the caption “To New Beginnings.”

The post set off guessing among fans and followers. Less than 24 hours later, the answer came from the pulpit.

Tunde Bakare Blessed the Union

Pastor Tunde Bakare, General Overseer of The Citadel Global Community Church, was also at the Sunday service. He revealed that the couple got married in the United States and that he blessed the union.

Bakare prayed for the couple in front of the congregation and described their marriage as a “power union.” He also confirmed that the bride is the daughter of Reverend Theophilus and Bolaji Daniel.

Who Is Pastor Mo Odukoya?

Mo, whose name before marriage is reported as Jasmine Daniel, is described by Nigerian media as a pastor, media consultant, author, designer and creative entrepreneur.

Legit.ng reports that she hosts a programme called “Recalibrate With Pastor MO” and runs a virtual book club named BookMark. She is now publicly known as Pastor Mo Odukoya.

From Nollywood and Hollywood to the Pulpit

Jimmy Odukoya is no stranger to the spotlight. Before he became senior pastor, he built a name as an actor and musician.

Many film lovers remember him as Oba Ade in the 2022 historical epic The Woman King, which starred Viola Davis. He has also appeared in Nigerian productions, which made him a familiar face to Nollywood audiences.

He became senior pastor of The Fountain of Life Church in September 2023, after the death of his father, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, in August that year. The church was co-founded by his father and his late mother, Pastor Bimbo Odukoya.

Jimmy was previously married and has two children from that marriage. The marriage later ended, and the reasons have not been made public.

Celebrities and Fans React

Congratulations poured in from several well-known names. Pulse Nigeria reports that comedian and actor Broda Shaggi, Ifedayo Agoro and Bisola Aiyeola were among those who celebrated the couple online.

The church also shared the moment on Instagram with the caption: “Congratulations to our senior pastor and First Lady Pastor Mo.”

A warm hug from his sister

One moment from the service that got people talking was the reaction of Jimmy’s sister, Pastor Tolu Odukoya. After he led his wife to the front seat, Tolu welcomed Mo with a hug before she sat down. A video of the moment spread quickly on X.

Not everyone was impressed

As with most celebrity weddings, there were mixed reactions. Delta State government media aide Ossai Ovie took to Instagram to criticise the couple’s accessories, pointing to Jimmy’s earring and his wife’s nose ring.

“A Pastor with an earring getting married to a woman with a nose ring is disappointing, and I am disappointed,” he wrote.

Online, some users also debated remarriage in the church, while many others defended the couple and sent their best wishes.

A Big Week for Celebrity Love Stories

The Odukoya announcement comes during a busy season of love and celebration in Nigerian showbiz. It follows the star-studded L.A.X and Ella wedding reception in Lagos and the news of Rachael Okonkwo’s engagement.

Final Word

For The Fountain of Life Church, November 1 will be remembered as the day a new First Lady stepped forward. For Jimmy Odukoya, who has spent the last three years leading the ministry his parents built, it marks what he himself called a new beginning. Fans will now be watching to see how Pastor Mo settles into her new role alongside her husband.
