In a TikTok video, Afia claimed Fadda Dickson bought the vehicle and handed it to Empress Gifty’s husband to present to her, a claim that none of the people involved has responded to so far.

What Afia Schwarzenegger Said About Fadda Dickson
According to GhanaWeb, Afia made the claim in a video posted on her TikTok page, captioned “Ok bye!!!!”.
She signalled that she was not done with the matter. “We haven’t finished talking about the car,” she said in the video.
Afia alleged that Fadda Dickson bought the car and passed it on to Hopeson Adorye to present, so that his own involvement would not attract public attention.
“Father Was the One Who Bought It”
The socialite described the alleged arrangement as Dickson’s “mode of operation” and asked whether he would ever stop his “old antics.”
She pointed to the back of the vehicle as her proof, saying: “Father was the one who bought it.” She also said, in a mocking tone, that she would thank Dickson “when I return,” suggesting Ghanaians would still find out who actually paid for the gift.
Afia did not show any documents or other evidence to back the claim in the reports that carried it, and the allegation remains unverified.
How the Empress Gifty Car Gift Saga Began
The controversy started on Thursday, November 5, 2026, when a video of Empress Gifty’s birthday surprise went viral. In the clip, her husband, Hopeson Adorye, presented her with a brand-new car at their home in the presence of family and friends, and the singer broke down in tears.
“I know today will be a memorable day, above all the birthdays she has celebrated from year one until now,” Adorye said, according to GhanaWeb. He added: “There are some things in life that may seem small but are very valuable, and this is one of them.”
Afia’s Earlier “Shameless” Jab
Soon after the video surfaced, Afia Schwarzenegger mocked Empress Gifty for her emotional reaction to what she called a Chinese car. In that earlier video, reported by GhPage, Afia questioned whether the surprise was real and suggested the singer had bought the car herself and asked her husband to present it.
“The two of you are shameless,” Afia said at the time. She also compared the gift to a luxury SUV, saying: “My daughter Tracy took a brand-new G-Wagon Brabus 2026 this November.”
Her latest video now points to Fadda Dickson as the alleged buyer, a different account from the one she gave earlier.
Empress Gifty Fires Back at Critics
Empress Gifty has already responded to the wider criticism over the gift. In a TikTok live session on November 5, she showed off the keys to two vehicles, a Range Rover and a 2026 Changan Q07 Plug-in Hybrid SUV, GhanaWeb reported.
The singer, who has never been shy about speaking her mind on social media, said she preferred the Chinese-made car. “I prefer the Chinese car… Baby, the car is what I took to work today,” she said.
She added that she would register the SUV in her own name and the Range Rover in the name of her late mother. “I will register the Chinese car as Empress 2,” she said.
No Response Yet From Fadda Dickson or the Couple
As of the time of reporting, Fadda Dickson had not publicly reacted to Afia’s claim. Hopeson Adorye and Empress Gifty had also not addressed the socialite’s new version of events, according to reports on Ghanamma and GhanaWeb.
The claim has sparked debate online, with fans and critics arguing over whether Afia’s account is accurate.
For now, the question of who paid for the car rests on Afia Schwarzenegger’s word alone. Halmblog will update this story if Fadda Dickson, Hopeson Adorye or Empress Gifty responds.
