Sarkodie

Sarkodie has finally given his full side of the story on the one-legged man video that sparked a public back-and-forth with Stonebwoy last month. Speaking on the first episode of Serwaa Amihere’s new show, When We Sit with Serwaa Amihere, the rapper insisted he would never mock a person living with a disability, but said he still sees nothing wrong with the clip and would share it again.

The wide-ranging conversation, which premiered on October 18, also saw the BET award winner open up about fatherhood, reveal that he has a song featuring his daughter Titi, and politely sidestep a question about Yvonne Nelson.

Here is the full episode of Sarkodie’s sit-down with Serwaa Amihere:

What Sarkodie Said About the Stonebwoy Video

Serwaa Amihere asked Sarkodie why he chose that particular clip and whether he should have expected people to take offence, given the timing.

The rapper was firm that hurting anyone was never the plan. “Me and you know that that would never be something that would cross my mind,” he said. “The last thing I’ll think about is to even mock another human being.”

He drew a clear line between music rivalry and personal attacks. According to him, a rap beef is a different matter where artistes exchange bars, but jokes about disability are “very serious” and should never be made. “You know you don’t know what can happen to you or your kids,” he added.

“Me Post It Kwa”

Even so, Sarkodie did not back down on the post itself. When asked whether he would share the video again, he answered: “Oh yeah, yeah. Me post it kwa.”

He admitted some people were offended, but said he will not feel bad when people choose to take offence at something that was not meant to hurt them.

How the Sarkodie and Stonebwoy Video Saga Started

The issue dates back to September 2026. Shortly after Stonebwoy’s BHIM Festival at the OVO Arena Wembley in London, Sarkodie shared a short clip on his Instagram Story showing a one-legged man trying to kick another person.

Many fans read it as a jab at Stonebwoy, whose right leg was affected by a childhood accident. Stonebwoy then took to X to ask why Sarkodie posted the clip after his UK show, saying only Sarkodie could explain what it meant.

The Bhim Nation boss also pointed out that he had called Sarkodie after his Royal Albert Hall concert and spoken with him for more than ten minutes. The exchange came around the same time Stonebwoy recalled how Sarkodie reportedly called the police after a 2020 concert dispute.

At the time, Sarkodie denied that the video was aimed at Stonebwoy. He said fan interpretations were not proof of intent and noted that he had invited Stonebwoy to his Royal Albert Hall show, something he would not have done if he had bad feelings towards him.

Sarkodie Reveals Unreleased Song With Daughter Titi

On a lighter note, the rapper spoke warmly about his two children, Titi and MJ. He described both as creative, and said MJ in particular loves to dance.

Titi, however, seems to run the house. “Madam is a boss. She’s a little girl, but she makes me nervous. She’s in control. She’s a true leader,” Sarkodie said, adding that she rarely shows her soft side.

He then let fans in on a secret. “I actually have a song with her. She did a chorus for me,” he revealed. He did not say when, or if, the song will be released.

The news comes as fans wait for his upcoming five-track DeJaVu EP, which is set for release on November 27.

No Comment on Yvonne Nelson

Serwaa Amihere also warned Sarkodie that her next question would be controversial before asking whether he had spoken to Yvonne Nelson since their 2023 saga.

The rapper chose not to go there. He said that since she herself had described the question as controversial, he would rather leave it alone, and he did not say whether the two have talked.

In June 2023, Yvonne Nelson’s memoir I Am Not Yvonne Nelson made claims about her past relationship with Sarkodie, and he responded with the song “Try Me.” The actress later said in April 2024 that the two were no longer close friends.

Other Talking Points From the Interview

The episode also touched on his plans for a 2027 concert at London’s O2 Arena. As we reported earlier, Sarkodie said he is unbothered by the pressure to sell out the O2. He also addressed claims that he does not respect women, saying that is people’s opinion and he cannot control how everyone sees him.

Reactions

Clips from the interview have been widely shared since the episode went live, with the Stonebwoy segment drawing the most debate. Some social media users still feel the original post was in poor taste, while others have welcomed Sarkodie’s clear statement that he never meant to mock anyone. Stonebwoy has not publicly responded to the latest comments.

Final Word

Sarkodie’s first sit-down with Serwaa Amihere gave fans a rare look at both sides of the rapper: the protective father excited about a song with his daughter, and the artiste who stands by his choices even when they cause a stir.
