Temi Nkem
Big Brother Naija Season 11 winner Temi Nkem is still the hottest name in Nigerian entertainment two days after the finale. Fresh numbers show she took the crown with just 25.87% of the final vote, a far smaller share than the 42.8% Imisi got when she won Season 10. Temi has also shared her plans after the show and says she will stay in Nigeria for at least two years.
The figures have restarted the argument fans had on finale night about whether Temi or runner-up Aikou deserved to win. Here is how the result played out, what Temi has said since, and why people are still talking.

A Narrow Win at the Finale
Temi Nkem, whose real name is Temitope Nkemdilim Chigbue, was named winner at the grand finale on Sunday, October 5, 2026. She spent 70 days in the house and beat eight other finalists to the top prize.
According to the vote breakdown, Temi got 25.87% of the votes. Aikou came second with 23.68%, and Sheba finished third with 9.80%. That puts the gap between first and second place at just 2.19 percentage points.
Before the top three were announced, Barry, Oyin, Ricky, Flora, Tram and Bluethopia were evicted one after another on the night. You can read our full report on the night in Temi Nkem’s BBNaija Season 11 win.

How It Compares With Imisi’s Season 10 Win
The comparison with last season is what has kept the story going. Imisi, who won Season 10, took 42.8% of the vote, which Vanguard described as a dominant win.
Temi’s share is about 17 percentage points lower. She still came out on top, but the result shows how evenly the fanbases were split this season, especially between her and Aikou.
Temi Nkem Plans to Stay in Nigeria for Two Years
Away from the numbers, Temi has started talking about life after the show. She spoke about her plans at a Show Ya Sef Season 11 event held at the MultiChoice Hall.
The new champion said she plans to stay in Nigeria for at least two years before travelling around Africa and the Middle East. “I want to go around the Middle East states and stuff,” she said. “But I do want to stay here, minimum, for two years.”
She also said she plans to invest a large part of her winnings, support her parents and continue her education online. Temi studied finance and says she wants to use that background to manage the money wisely.
Why her plans matter to fans
Temi has family roots in Nigeria. Her father is from Ibusa in Delta State and her mother is from Lagos. However, she lived in London before the show, and some viewers questioned whether people based abroad should be allowed to compete. Her promise to stay in the country for two years looks set to answer some of that criticism.
The Temi vs Aikou Debate
The close result has fuelled one of the biggest fan arguments of the season. Many viewers felt Aikou was the stronger housemate, and the crowd at the finale was reported to be louder for him than for Temi.
Aikou’s journey was shaped by twists. He came into the house as a “Gambit” with a guaranteed place in the finale but was not allowed to win the prize at first. On August 30, viewers voted to release him from that status through “Operation Release the Gambit”, making him a regular housemate who could be evicted.
He then survived a Week 6 eviction where he was up alongside 14 other housemates. In Week 8, Barry used his Ultimate Veto Power to save him.
Temi took a different route. She stayed at the centre of the drama, from her kiss with Tram to a fake eviction in Week 9 that turned out to be a twist. In a diary session, she said: “I would say some was real, some was fake so I really love to be underestimated in this house.”
Mixed Reactions on Social Media
Reactions online have been split. Some users openly said Aikou would have been a better winner and deserved the money more.
Others defended Temi, saying the show is meant to entertain viewers and that she did exactly that. A few users called for tighter voting rules to stop alleged group voting schemes, but no evidence of vote manipulation has been made public.
Meanwhile, other former housemates continue to make headlines. Ex-BBNaija star Mike Edwards recently called out Carter Efe for a boxing bout, showing how far the reality show’s stars travel after leaving the house.
What Comes Next for Temi Nkem
For now, Temi’s focus is on building her brand in Nigeria. Past winners have used the platform to land endorsements, TV roles and business deals, and fans will be watching to see how she uses her N90 million cash prize and new fame.
Whether you backed her or Aikou, one thing is clear: the Season 11 race was one of the closest in recent memory, and the debate is not ending anytime soon. Catch up on how the final night was set up in our BBNaija Season 11 finale preview.
